Irish Car Insurance

Irish eyes - Bakersfield.com -

While I was listening to my daily dosage of right-wing hate radio and watching the hateful right-wing pundits on cable news, I came to this conclusion:  Republicans and conservatives are heartless, mindless, soulless sociopaths.

Here's why.  Some right-wing pundit was on CNN and said something to the effect of, "If you look at the numbers, there are really only about 10 million Americans who can't truly afford health insurance."

So what this guy essentially did was take a play out of Joseph Stalin's book of quotes:  "One death is a tragedy.  A million deaths is just a statistic."

Only 10 million Americans?!  *ONLY* 10,000,000!!??  That's the entire population of New York City!  And this right-wing pundit was acting like it wasn't a big deal.

But this is the mentality of today's conservatives.  They just don't care about anyone or anything except themselves while they actively try to breed chaos in this society.  And we have a word in our language for such people:  psychopaths.

So there, I said it.  And it needs to be said.  If this is how the Republicans think, then we can properly call the GOP its rightful name:  Grand Ole Psychopaths.

I have a lot of conservative, republican friends...that i disagree with about just about everything political and social..but some of them have bigger hearts than me.  just different opinions about how to handle the same problems.  you can't base your opinion based off one right wing nut making some stupid comment on a show.

I wouldn't be so quick to lump conservatives in as all mindless and souless. Basically what you are saying is half of America are psychos. Certainly the extreme right has taken over the party, and there are plenty of twits on the airwaves, but I would think most Americans want the same thing, they just don't agree on how to do it. There are plenty of liberal whackos too.

I just wish more people would start investigating things on their own, and not harping what is said in the media. There is little integrity in the media anymore. It's not reporting, it's all one big editorial. Too many people jump on these yahoo's bandwagons and don't realize that these alleged pundits don't really care about anything other than their ratings and their money.

For instance, I don't think Rush Limbaugh EVER intended to be a part owner of the Rams. What he wanted is to be relevant again and maybe get his mug plastered on Sports Illustrated. He also is baiting guys like Al Sharpton knowing full well they also want to get into the news and be relevant again. Since 70% of NFL players are black, Rush doesn't stand a chance in hell of becoming an owner, and he knows it. Then when he is turned down, he can call THEM the racists. Rush plays his dittoheads like a drum.

Seniors on the Go: Some Changes Made: Elderhostel; Irish Driving

Elderhostel, since 1975 a dominant force in educational travel for seniors, has decided it outgrew its name. From now on, it's "Exploritas." The new name, the press release says, "focuses more on the excitement of lifelong learning and exploration and less on age." I generally have a problem with manufactured names that require a pronunciation guide -- it's "ek splôr´ i tahs," says the release -- but fortunately some new features come with the new name.

New this year:

-- "Independent Explorations" programs in key destination cities, including Los Angeles , New Orleans, New York, Santa Fe, and Washington , that will "combine structured lectures and activities with time for participants to explore their own interest at their own pace."

-- More flexible international programs, with shorter increments that participants can combine back-to-back if they want more extended stays. Typical new programs are eight-night
